Most marriage books go quiet exactly where marriages actually break.

The shelf is crowded with gentle books on love languages and respect — and nearly all of them stop just short of the cold bed, the hidden screen, and the betrayal no one saw coming. CLEAVE doesn’t.

The word cleave is its own opposite: to cling, and to split. Every marriage becomes a long test of which meaning will win. Drawing on Scripture and the deep well of Christian pastoral tradition, CLEAVE names what a marriage actually is — a covenant, not a contract — and then walks straight into the passages most books avoid:

• Temperament — why two people who love each other can’t read each other’s silences, and the four-temperament framework that turns “my spouse is broken” into “my spouse is wired differently.”
• The body in the covenant — an honest, non-shaming theology of sex, including the real injury of a cold marriage bed and the cost of pornography to both the user and the spouse.
